What is Hypnosis?

It is a powerful tool for effecting deep, lasting change. You can think of hypnosis as a process of aligning your wants and desires with your subconscious beliefs which controls your thoughts and behavior. In Hypnosis consultations we use relaxation and focused concentration to bypass the conscious mind and communicate directly with the subconscious where real change takes place. At the initial interview for any client using hypnosis we provide a full explanation of hypnosis and how it works, our process etc.

How does it work?

Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state, we go in and out of hypnosis every day. Just before we fall asleep we are in a state of hypnosis every day, we are all in hypnosis to a degree when watching a movie, daydreaming or reading a good book. In hypnosis we get the client into a pleasantly relaxed state and achieve the hypnotic state of relaxation. During this hypnotic state we communicate directly with the conscious desires to the subconscious mind in ways it can understand and accept such as changing thought patterns, habits, and changing old limiting beliefs to change for good.

What does Hypnosis feel like when you are in hypnosis?

From personal experience I would describe it as a pleasantly relaxed feeling, a comfortable feeling. You will feel at peace. And it is in this relaxed state that you will become more receptive to receiving suggestions that will help you. You will slowly be guided into this relaxed state and find it a rather enjoyable experience. Most will say it feels deeply relaxing. You may feel tingling in your hands or legs, others feel heavy as of they are sinking into a chair, others feel they are floating and many feel as though they have been sitting for 10 minutes when it os actually one hour.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Yes, some people are able to go into hypnosis deeper than others. Most people can go into at least a light state of hypnosis, which is enough to gain the benefits from the session.

Will I lose control?

Absolutely not. Hypnosis is not about control by the hypnotist. It is about working together so that the client can be empowered to create change in his or her life.

You cannot be made to do anything you are not willing to do. Having a lack of control while undergoing hypnosis is on of the many misconceptions brought about from stage hypnosis shows. During a hypnosis session, the client always has control.

Will I accidentally say things that I want to keep secret?

No. You cannot be forced to say or do anything if you are not willing.
